About the Author

Kalista Marbou is an educator and a family advocate by trade. She wrote children's short stories along with student’s activities and teacher’s instructions as part of her job in the Department of Education in Palau. She also translated children stories written in English to Palauan vernacular. Through her career in Palau Education Department, she learned the potential value of being a bilingual speaker in both English and Palauan. Ms. Marbou desires to help spark a love of reading and writing in Palauan, and also to help provide a way of maintaining the language usage in its written form. Ms. Marbou finds that a better way to accomplish these desires is simply to write children’s books in Palauan. She works and resides in Hawaii, devoting her time to writing children’s books and enjoys being a great grandmother!
